Sarah Jessica Parker to be face of Halston fashion

It’s been revealed in an article by the Daily Mail that Sarah Jessica Parker has signed contracts with US fashion label Halston in the first steps towards an advertising campaign to be launched alongside the second Sex And The City film next spring.

Given the success of the first film, it seems a great move for Halston to get involved with the established fashionista before the second one launches! Here at Models Direct, we’re excited to see what the campaign will look like, and whether the clothes themselves will be Sex And The City inspired…

Front Row at London Fashion Week

This is floating around the internet at the moment as probably the funniest photo from London Fashion Week (18th-22nd September) and here at Models Direct we can’t help but chuckle.

US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour seems very unimpressed by being stuck next to the fashion youngsters Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof at the Twenty8Twelve show.

A stern-faced Wintour looks obviously annoyed (look at her body language!) sitting next to Alexa and Pixie, who hugged and pulled faces throughout the show.

Ok, so if I’d have been there they probably would have annoyed me too, but does anyone else think Anna should lighten up a bit?

Boris Johnson: Fashion Icon?

Of all the people that could appear on the cover of fashion magazine British Elle who would be most likely? I’m guessing Boris Johnson would be low on that list, if you’d even consider him at all!

But, as part of the 25 years of London Fashion Week celebrations, the Mayor of London is the ‘cover-boy’ of special edition copies of October’s issue. He’s also provided the editor’s letter for the magazine, one of only three blondes who have written it!

Boris obviously felt honoured to be given the opportunity, saying: “Lorraine took what for many might seem a huge risk. Who would have expected me to grace an Elle cover – or any other fashion magazine? The capital leads the world in producing innovative designers, so I’m thrilled to have been involved in this special issue celebrating 25 years of London Fashion Week.”

Is Boris Johnson about to get a new fashion icon status? Whatever next!?

October’s edition of Elle UK celebrating 25 years of London fashion is out now.

Update on Sex And The City 2

Filming for the next Sex And The City film has officially begun!

Hollywood starlet Sarah Jessica Parker has been spotted in New York filming for the latest instalment of the franchise in which she portrays writer and fashionista Carrie Bradshaw.

She’s looking very stylish in this snapshot…

And it’s a blast from the past in this photo! This is taken from a flashback scene in the movie which shows Carrie first arriving in New York City.

After the immense success of the first film, it’s not surprising that things are on track. We can’t wait to see it!

Models Direct loves Kate Moss for Topshop!

The first photographs of Kate Moss’s Autumn/Winter ad campaign for this season’s Topshop range are here, and they look awesome. We love the clothes here at the Models Direct offices, and will be heading out to buy a few items as soon as they become available. What do you think?

Congratulations from Models Direct!

We want to say a big congratulations to designer Marc Jacobs who will be marrying advertising executive Lorenzo Martone this weekend.

The wedding is taking place in Massachusetts and apparently has a guest list of zero. No doubt they’ll be having a fantastic, and very fashionable, party afterwards though!

The designer has also recently confirmed that he’ll be hosting a party during New York Fashion Week in September, with Lady Gaga as the guest of honour. I can’t wait to see what she’ll be wearing. No doubt it’ll be something to blog about!

High Five – a new kind of gloves!

I’m a big fan of high fives and I’ve just come across the perfect accessory for fellow high-fivers.

These mittens are from designer Kate Spade, sister-in-law of actor and comedian David Spade and the co-founder and namesake of Kate Spade New York.

With winter quickly approaching I would love a pair! I have the image of people walking around wintry cities, huddled up in their warm coats, seeing another person wearing these mittens and then spontaneously high-fiving each other… is this just me?

Annoyingly, they’re very expensive; $95 is far too much to spend on a pair of gloves, especially novelty gloves. Luckily they’re sold out at the moment anyway so I can avoid the temptation!

She has also designed this pair, perfect for hailing a cab!

I’m now trying to think of more witty glove designs… maybe I could take up knitting and make them myself!
