Sarah Jessica Parker to be face of Halston fashion

It’s been revealed in an article by the Daily Mail that Sarah Jessica Parker has signed contracts with US fashion label Halston in the first steps towards an advertising campaign to be launched alongside the second Sex And The City film next spring.

Given the success of the first film, it seems a great move for Halston to get involved with the established fashionista before the second one launches! Here at Models Direct, we’re excited to see what the campaign will look like, and whether the clothes themselves will be Sex And The City inspired…

Update on Sex And The City 2

Filming for the next Sex And The City film has officially begun!

Hollywood starlet Sarah Jessica Parker has been spotted in New York filming for the latest instalment of the franchise in which she portrays writer and fashionista Carrie Bradshaw.

She’s looking very stylish in this snapshot…

And it’s a blast from the past in this photo! This is taken from a flashback scene in the movie which shows Carrie first arriving in New York City.

After the immense success of the first film, it’s not surprising that things are on track. We can’t wait to see it!

It’s been announced this week that the filming of the second Sex And The City film has been delayed until the end of August.

The fashion-centred Sex And The City brand began back in 1998 with a TV show that ran for six seasons on the American cable channel HBO and received acclaim globally. The show centred on the sex lives of four modern New York women, with the main character being fashion-obsessed and writing for Vogue later in the series.

In 2008, a film based on the original series was released, starring all of the original cast and picking up with the characters four years later.

It was announced in February that a sequel to the film was in the works. It has more recently been reported that the main characters from the series and from the first film will be reprising their roles once again in Sex And The City 2, which is as yet unnamed.

Despite the delays that have been announced, apparently due to authorities in Dubai refusing filming rights within the country, the film’s release is still expected on May 28th, 2010.

Alongside the notice that filming would be delayed, an open casting call for the new film has also been announced. Taking place in New York, the casting call will fall on August 4th and will be looking for extras to feature in the film.

The Sex And The City bosses are apparently looking for people who look like “international types,” professional soccer players, fashion models, urban club goers, gays and lesbians, celebrity types, and upscale socialites.

I don’t think I quite fit the bill! Will any of you be having a go at auditioning?
